Tony Khan books Ciampa vs Speedball Bailey for the AEW National title on 11 November

Tommaso Ciampa's first defence of the AEW National Championship is set for this Wednesday.

AEW president Tony Khan announced the match hours after Ciampa won the title on Saturday's Collision:

"AEW National Title @MrTommasoCiampa vs @SpeedballBailey After Ciampa won the title from Andrade el Idolo tonight, the former champion's teammate Speedball Bailey seeks to bring the belt back to the United Empire THIS WEDNESDAY!"

AEW on TV posted that Ciampa "found a way to secure a pin" on Andrade El Idolo in the Collision main event to take the championship, a result POST Wrestling also reported. RingZine's report on the title change is here.

A three-hour Wednesday show

AEW said the 11 November show is a special three-hour #AEWDynamite/#AEWCollision broadcast, live at 8/7c on TBS and HBO Max. Khan has also pointed fans to Full Gear the following Saturday.

The storyline

Khan framed the match as Andrade's United Empire stablemate trying to win the belt back straight away. AEW has not said, in these posts, whether Andrade will be at ringside or whether the winner gets a Full Gear defence.
